The Canon Pixma iP5000 - A Seriously Good Printer
This model from the Canon stable of printers does everything you could wish. The machine is the first to use Canon iP5000 ink with 1 pl ink droplets. These give very fine gradations of colour in photographic prints. There are two papers trays and for everyday use you can use the paper cassette leaving the top tray for photographic paper. The model also has a CD printer tray. Canon has included dual sided printing with a USB socket and PictBridge support. Unfortunately, there is no memory card slot so if your camera does not have the PictBridge feature you will need a PC to print images. The economical nature of the model is helped with Canon iP5000 ink cartridges which can be replaced individually. Black text documents are achieved at over 6 pages per minute and a 5" x 3" photograph takes about 1 minute 50 seconds. Colours are clean and vibrant with fine details and smooth transitions between shades.
