This resetter is designed to reset both the older 7 pin chipped cartridges and the newer T0711/2/3/4 and T0801/2/3/4/5/6 cartridges which have 9 contact pins. It will reset both genuine Epson and our compatibles but we cannot guarantee that it will reset other brands of compatible cartridge. Please see the compatibility list to make sure that your cartridge part numbers are supported.

This resetter will generally reset supported older 7 pin Epson cartridges without issue but please make sure that you read the following points if you intend to reset the newer genuine Epson 9 pin cartridges.

When resetting chips on genuine Epson T0711, T0712, T0713, T0714, T0801, T0802, T0803, T0804, T0805 & T0806 cartridges you will need to reset your cartridges before the ink level goes below around 40% and you will also need to refrain from tipping the cartridges on their side once removed. This is because, on the new genuine Epson cartridges, there is a sensor behind the chip that is always immersed in the ink. If the cartridge is empty, low or if it is tipped on its side then air will have reached the internal sensor which it will render the cartridge permanently unrecognisable after resetting. By resetting the cartridge at above 40% ink and keeping it level you will keep the sensor immersed in ink and therefore stop the cartridge from being rejected.
Our compatible cartridges do not have such a sensor and can be reset when empty or at any point in between.

Genuine and compatible chips can usually be reset many times but as they are manufactured with the intention of being used only once, we cannot guarantee any cartridges or chips beyond their intended single use life span.

This resetter WILL NOT reset the new Epson T1281/2/3/4/5 (FOX) & T1291/2/3/4/5 (APPLE) cartridges. If you require a resetter for these then please click here.
