An All-In-One Inkjet Printer - The Canon Pixma MP540
Canon has released several all-in-one printers using the same print engine but with different features. The first benefit of this machine is the use of individual colour Canon MP540 ink cartridges which give excellent results at lower costs. Under the scanner there is a 48mm colour LCD display screen and a simple to use control panel. At the back there are sockets for a USB and mains cable but no Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity. It is a simple task to fit the Canon MP540 ink cartridges into the holders. The print head can reduce the delivery of ink down to 1pl droplets which gives much finer detail on photographs.

The print speeds quoted are, as usual, higher than those achieved. After initial set up you can expect 6.09 ppm for mono and 2.94 ppm for colour. The quality is very good throughout and if you use Canon's top notch Platinum photo paper with Canon MP540 compatible inks you will get a superb result. Print Costs The Canon MP540 printer ink cartridges are not available in high capacity units so you can expect prints to work out at 3.89 pence for black and white and 9.12 for colour. These are not low costs but the machine is very cheap to buy so this is normal for an entry level model.
